The Philosophy of Science & Scientific Method 

Scientific method is not new thing for a university student. Surely, you hav asked about it before. Philosophy is a different view of a person on things that happen in nature. but there are so many definisitions for this wide topic. According to information that we gather from reading materials in week 01, It can be simply defined as Philosophy is the love of wisdom.When we studding about topic it can be find several branches of Philosophy. Ex:  

1. Epistemology -  represented that study of knowledge.
2. Logic - use it to construct arguments as a set of statements which support our theory.
3. Ethics - invlves systematinging, defending and recommending concepts of right and wrong behaviour.
4. Aesthetics - relating to the employment or study of beauty, or showing great beauty.
5. Metaphysics - beyond physics  

• Lets consider what is scientific method? 👀

it is an empirical method of acquiring knowledge that has characterized the development of science. As well as we can define it as mathematical and experimental technique employed in the sciences. scientific method has six major steps. 

1. Questioning
2. Hypothesis
3. Experiment
4. Observation
5. Analysis
6. Conclusion

   

   
   

Those first three parts are somewhat more important that others. there are so many theories has generated based on this  method. One example is breaking down the spontaneity. 

• Now consider the aspect on scientific method. 👀

I'll consider about simple day to day experience for this. Lets see what is it?

"I get into my SUV and try to start it. but unfortunately self start motor isn't working powerfully. I got a question why is it not working properly. Then I make hypothesis battery in my vehicle may be discharged. I get ammeter and test. Then I could realized that the battery has discharged"   

 lets prepare this situation in formal logical way.

P1 - If battery may discharged motor will not working powerfully.

P2 - I couldn't start my vehicle.

C - So that, the battery has discharged.

This situation can get a example as modus ponens. this logic is affirmation the antecedent. This is the method can use to get decision according to the scientific manner.

EPISTAMOLOGY

Epistemology is the study of the nature of knowledge, justification, and the rationality of belief. That is the easiest way that it can define. Epistemology addresses such questions as: "What makes beliefs justified?" "What does it mean to say that we know something?" and fundamentally "How do we know that we know?    

Lets see what is the meaning of Perception.
Through the perceptual process, we gain information about the properties and elements of the environment that are critical to our survival. Perception includes the five senses; touch, sight, sound, smell and taste. 

TESTIMONY

Testimony, that term is normally we can find with subject with refer in law. testimony is clearly an indispensable source of knowledge, specifying exactly how it is that we are able to learn from speaker ‘s say so has proven to be a difficult task. In this study we can found several reasons that why we should share testimony.

Ethics that combined with life

Ethics is not is an ideal system that is all very noble in theory but no good in practice. The term ethics may refer to the philosophical study of the concepts of moral good and bad. The last may be associated with particular religions, cultures, professions, or virtually any other group that is at least partly characterized by its moral outlook. 

The branch of philosophy that deals with ethics is concerned distinguishing between good and evil in the world.  Happiness is important part of human life. If we can get it with morality it will be most important thing. 

This term surely iteract wih peace among nations. That is the major importance of this.

Gender Equality & Liberty

According to this recent study, women have better mental health relative to men in countries that have less gender equality. A definition Gender equality means that all genders are free to pursue whatever career, lifestyle choice, and abilities they want without discrimination. Their rights, opportunities, and access to society are not different based on their gender. Gender equality does not necessarily mean that everyone is treated exactly the same .

Scientific Theories VS Reality 

A scientific Theory is an explanation of an aspect of the natural world and universe that can be repeatedly tested and verified in accordance with the scientific method, using accepted protocols of observation and evaluation of results. 

    The point is that I’m evaluating each option by imagining what the effects of it are. So that, we use assumptions to build relation among theories and real life.

Lets see where, What is assumption?

We can define as assumptions as a statement that is assumed to be true and from which a conclusion can be drawn; "on the assumption that he has been injured we can infer that he will not to play" premise , premises posit , postulate - (logic) a proposition that is accepted as true in order to provide a basis for logical reasoning. 

    Theories are doing major part of science. It provides good evidence every situation has a scientific background and not at all they are only beliefs.

    Lets see why real life may differ from theory. The scientist is doing much more practical and after those practical they derived result as a theory, but they may do this under controlled condition in a laboratory. In that condition this theory may be true but in real nature that condition can we expect? Now I think you can understand what happen?
