RACE AND ETHNICITY WITH PEACE

              How can manage peace among different kind of ethnics? Nowadays it has been problemed. What are the requirements for that? There are so many arguments were generated all around the world since ancient past, because of this race and ethnicity. Throughout this article, it is hoped to gather some information about race, ethnicity (difference between race and ethnicity), violence between ethnic groups and religious extremism. Finally, hope to discuss what are the solutions for question that mentioned in first. 

1. INTRODUCTION

Each and every human have race in their born. Then they are Race and ethnicity are two concepts related to human ancestry. Both of two terms have inter relationship with each other. Race is defined as “a category of humankind that shares certain distinctive physical traits.” The term ethnicity is more broadly defined as “large groups of people classed according to common racial, national, tribal, religious, linguistic, or cultural origin or background.” The line between your race and your ethnicity can definitely become blurred. This is largely due to the fact that race and ethnicity are social constructs rather than based on any science. According to White House research, there is no genetic basis in race. It was found that all humans are closely related with the same gene collection

2. RACE AND ETHNICITY

Race and ethnicity are used to categorize certain sections of the population. In basic terms, race describes physical traits, and ethnicity refers to cultural identification. Human should have a sense of their own nation or race. That emotion called as nationalism. Race may also be identified as something you inherit while ethnicity is something you learn.

2.1 Difference between race and ethnicity

Those two terms seem close meanings. But there is some difference between them. Race and ethnicity can overlap. For example, a Japanese-American would probably consider herself a member of the Japanese or Asian race, but, if she doesn't engage in any practices or customs of her ancestors, she might not identify with the ethnicity, instead considering herself an American. Likewise, these are the main differences,

➢ Ethnicity can be displayed or hidden, while race generally cannot be.

➢ Ethnicity can be adopted, ignored, or broadened, while racial characteristics cannot.

➢ Ethnicity has subcategories, while races no longer do.

➢ Both have been used to subjugate or persecute people.

➢ Some sociologists believe that racial divisions are based more on sociological concepts than biological principles.

3. RELIGIOUS EXTREMISM

Religion is linked with race and ethnicity. Racialism and religious extremism mostly result from misunderstanding of religious message and its objectives. This misunderstanding is generally accompanied by revolutionary enthusiasm and fury, and little awareness. This will result in indifference over blood-shedding of others and considering them as infidels. Throughout history, people have perpetrated extreme violent acts in the name of religion – whether it be Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism or another faith. A complex series of psychological, political, historical and theological factors combine to trigger such behavior. This teams are usually called as terrorists.

Race is defined as “a category of humankind that shares certain distinctive physical traits. Although terms of race and ethnicity are appeared same meanings, there is some difference between them. Violence between ethnic groups is generatedbecause of racialism. To avoid this unfortunate situation all ethnic groups should respect others and should not decry others. Because peace between every ethnic’s groups is the most important thing.
